In 2010 the Styrian state parliament enacted an amendment to the federal state security law that prohibits
the act of begging in the city of Graz. From May 1st 2011 on no begging is allowed in the public space.

On the street in front of Gallery Atelier Contemporary a cup was placed with a sign asking for a small
donation - but without a begger.
